What is it that binds us to this place as to no other? It is not the well or the bell or the stone walls. or the crisp October nights. No, our love for this place is based upon the fact that it is as it was meant to be, The University of the People.
I finished undergrad in 1965 - my wife a year earlier at Duke - and we don't recall many folks whose size was the most memorable thing about them. Take that any way you like! Of course, our friends were mostly students on the go and that tends to keep the lbs off.
